Clay bars are a vital paint-decontamination step in detailing and paint correction. When used with a lubricant (quick detailer or soapy water), the pliable clay lifts embedded contaminants — tar, overspray, insect residue, industrial fallout and brake dust — leaving the surface smooth and ready for polishing or paint protection.
