Thinners & Hardeners

Thinners and hardeners are chemical additives that control application properties and curing of paints, primers, fillers and clearcoats. Thinners (reducers) lower viscosity and regulate evaporation to improve sprayability, flow and leveling for solvent- and some water-based systems. Hardeners (activators) are required for two-component (2K) systems—they trigger the chemical curing that creates a hard, scratch- and chemical-resistant film. Always follow the product technical data sheet and specified mixing ratios; thinners and hardeners have different functions and are not interchangeable.
