Wet-on-wet

Wet-on-wet (non-sanding) coating is a method where subsequent coats are applied before previous coats have fully cured, eliminating intermediate sanding and reducing cycle time. The technique requires paints, primers and fillers formulated for wet-on-wet application to ensure proper intercoat adhesion and a uniform finish. Prepare the surface thoroughly — clean, dry and free from dust, grease or loose paint — and follow manufacturer instructions for flash-off times, temperature and humidity. Use controlled, even application and avoid excessively thick layers; test products on a small area if uncertain. Check technical data sheets for compatibility of non-sanding primers and fillers and for recommended drying times to achieve optimal durability and appearance.
