Hardener

A hardener is an additive used in two-component (2K) paint systems and other coating mixtures. Hardeners either accelerate curing or increase the cured coating’s chemical and mechanical resistance. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommended mixing ratio and use our mixing cups and measuring sticks for accurate dosing. Typical ratios and measurement Hardener amounts are typically expressed as a percentage (often 2–10%) or as a parts ratio (e.g., 2:1). Exact proportions vary by product—refer to the product label or technical data sheet and measure precisely for best adhesion, hardness and durability. Risks of incorrect dosing Too much hardener can lead to cracking, poor surface appearance or reduced gloss; too little can leave the coating soft, undercured and less durable.
